Action Home Care: Okeechobee County Health & Safety Expo 2015

Action Home Care enjoyed their time at the Annual Health & Safety Expo in Okeechobee, FL on January 31, 2015.  Rebecca Barnes represented the agency with an information booth on the services they provide in Okeechobee County and the surrounding area.  Rebecca enjoyed getting to know members of the community and networking with other health care professionals.  Action Home Care had a free raffle for all visitors.  The raffle prize for this year was a “Date Night” gift basket, which included popcorn, candy, soda, and a movie.  Visitors could also pick up free giveaways from the AHC booth.  Action Home Care would like to give a big thank you to everyone who attended and made this event possible!

She explained Action Home Care is a locally owned and operated program. They provide in home therapy and nursing care for homebound patients. Their goal is to help patients meet their potential and help them lead healthier, happier and more independent lives. Services include skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social services, home health aide and other programs.

Action Home Care: Okeechobee County Health & Safety Expo

Action Home Care had the pleasure of participating in the Okeechobee County Health & Safety Expo on January 25, 2014. Action Home Care’s Business Development Coordinator, Rebecca Barnes, was there with a booth representing the home health agency. AHC’s booth had something for everyone including a free raffle entry, trivia, giveaways, games, health education and information on home health. Action’s raffle items included two gift baskets: one for adults and one for families with children. Within the gift baskets were things such as toiletry items, playing cards, kids movies and first aid kits. Over a hundred businesses and organizations participated as vendors; and over a thousand spectators came out to the event. The Okeechobee County Health & Safety Expo was a fun-filled, free event and perfect for families! Action Home Care truly enjoys participating in events dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles. As one could imagine, AHC believes there can never be too much health promotion; especially when it is so much FUN!

Action Home Care: Laurel Oaks Senior Apartments Brunch, Okeechobee, FL

Action Home Care sponsored and organized a Fall Brunch & Social for the residents at Laurel Oaks Senior Apartments in Okeechobee, FL on October 31, 2013. Action Home Care representative, Rebecca Barnes, partnered with Lt. Ryan Hathaway from Okeechobee County Fire Rescue and Dr. Jo Beth Barnes, a pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy, to provide health information and services to the residents that attended the brunch. R. Barnes, Hathaway, and J. Barnes each spoke about their role in the community and the services they provide. Lt. Hathaway took vital signs for those that wanted their vitals checked. Dr. Barnes was available to answer any questions regarding medications and provided information on the importance of receiving the Flu Vaccine. Dr. Barnes and CVS Pharmacy also donated chap sticks and ice packs for the residents to take home. Rebecca spoke about the in-home health care Action Home Care provides to the community, which includes a variety services from skilled nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, home health aides, and medical social workers. Action Home Care also provided giveaways for the attendees to take home. Brunch was served buffet style which included an assortment of bagels, cream cheeses, fruits, sliced cheese, muffins, cookies, and juices. R. Barnes, Hathaway and J. Barnes enjoyed socializing and serving the senior residents at Laurel Oaks. Everyone who attended the brunch seemed to be overjoyed with the event and its sponsors. Action Home Care looks forward to sponsoring more events like this in the future!

Action Home Care had a great time participating in the Adam Bryant Minimal Regatta in Okeechobee, FL. Rebecca Barnes represented Action Home Care with an information booth, where she distributed information on the health care services AHC provides to the community.  Action Home Care’s booth was a hit with games and prizes to be won!  It was a great day of boat racing and fun for everyone! AHC looks forward to participating again next year!
